Skype for BlackBerry 10 will be an android port
Skype was mentioned as one of the first apps to be committed to the BlackBerry 10 platform at the BlackBerry 10 launch event last week.
This generated a lot of buzz and excitement as it was viewed by many as 2 “must-have” app for the BlackBerry 10 platform.
The app has yet to appear in BlackBerry World but news has surfaced about it.
From Skype’s own support page, Skype for BlackBerry 10 will be a port of Skype for Android.
The Verge spotted the information and highlighted that the supported Android runtimes for BB 10 are based on Android 2.3.3, which are more than two years old.
That means Skype for BlackBerry 10 won’t have all of the modern feature or functions of an Android application supporting Android 4.0 or better. Whether it is a good or a bad port, once Skype for BlackBerry 10 is available, it will look and feel a little different from the current Android app.

Too many android ports for my liking. I have a BlackBerry device and quite frankly I want BlackBerry apps, not android apps packed to run in the android player.
Well, I thought about that already but.. Regardless, good thing it is still going to be on BB10.. As alternative (to some users), they can use the BBM Voice/Video.. Much more easier..
