Three launches £5 per day unlimited EU data roaming
Three follows Vodafone in introducing reduced cost EU roaming with Euro Internet Pass unlimited data package
Three has today introduced unlimited data usage for contract customers travelling in the European Union for £5 per day.
Three customers will be sent a text message containing a link to activate the Euro Internet Pass, which will last until 12 midnight UK time on the day of purchase.
Though data usage will be free, Three has warned that streaming may not be as fast as in the UK, and tethering other devices to a Three handset’s data connection will not be included in the pass.
Three marketing director Thomas Malleschitz said:
The Euro Internet Pass gives our customers the freedom to use the internet in the EU without having to think about how many megabytes or gigabytes they are using or where the nearest Wifi hotspot is.’
Three is the latest operator to introduce new packages for roaming in the EU following the European Commission’s decision to cap the amount EU operators can charge their customers for calls, texts and data when they roam to other countries within the EU.
The new regulations come into force on July 1.
