Terry Cavanagh teases Android and BlackBerry ports of indie hit Super Hexagon

Don’t Look Back developer Terry Cavanagh told the members of social news website Reddit that they could ask him anything.

After a few questions, talk turned to Cavanagh’s hardcore action title Super Hexagon, which was snapped up by eager iOS gamers around 10,000 times in its first three days on sale.

The indie developer also revealed that he may port the rock-hard title to both Android and Blackberry, as well as to Mac and PC.

It sold “way beyond expectations, actually. It’s sold about 10,000 copies in three days, and has been in the top 25 on the iPhone charts,” Cavanagh said, in response to a question about the game’s performance on the App Store.

“I didn’t see that coming at all. I’d really gone into this expecting the game to be a super niche thing that only a tiny handful of iPhone gamers would be interested in, and I’m really glad to be proven wrong.”

Platform wars

“For other platforms, right now I’m hoping to do an Android port, and PC and Mac ports. And a friend of mine has a Blackberry playbook, so I might give that a shot too for the hell of it,” he continued.

So, there we go. Cavanagh failed to mention a tentative release date or any information regarding the ports, but at least you know they’re probably coming sooner or later.
