Good news if you love a large coffee on the daily commute, the Starbucks app for Android is now available in the UK.

Not only is it available, this is an enhanced version of the app compared to the original US-launched app.

So the best things do come to those who wait.

‘The expansion of our mobile payment footprint to two of our most important markets is a strong milestone for us, but more importantly, it extends the number of customers who now have a faster and easier way to pay at Starbucks,’ said Adam Brotman, chief digital officer at Starbucks Coffee Company. ‘We are thrilled to extend mobile payment capabilities to Android smartphones in the UK and Canada and enhance the experience in the US.’

Grab the app, which is available for Android 2.2 smartphones and above, to pay for your coffee with your phone. Not only that, the new app allows you to ‘reload’ your phone via either PayPal or using any major credit card. So stock up at the weekend and you’ll never be fiddling for change for a coffee in the week.

The app also allows you to manage your account on your phone, check your My Starbucks Rewards status and find nearby stores. It even gives you the option to activate a widget to view your balance, My Starbucks Rewards star count, store locator and Touch to Pay icon. Finally, the app offers pin code protection.
