RIM holding three new BlackBerry developer webcasts on NFC

Starting on October 4th, 2012,  RIM a holding a new series of webcasts where you can learn all about NFC starting with the basics and moving into more advanced stuff such as integration within BlackBerry 7 and BlackBerry 10.

There will be three webcasts held each with their own look at specific topics:

Introduction to NFC on BlackBerry – Event

This session will introduce the audience to Near Field Communications (NFC) technology, what it can be used for on a BlackBerry device and the kind of skills required to exploit it. Attendees do not need to be developers to benefit from this session and developers who do attend need no prior experience of NFC.

Topics covered include: NFC: what it is, what it can be used for, how it can be used and who can use it. This will include taking both a user’s and a developer’s perspective of “NFC on Blackberry”.

Working with NFC tags on BlackBerry 10 – Event

This session will examine NFC tags and how applications developers can read them and act upon their contents from their BlackBerry 10 applications. The session will also review the process for writing to NFC tags. Attendees should be Java developers to gain the most benefit from this session. The session will include a demonstration and code review.

Topics covered include: NFC Tags: what they are, what they can be used for, how they can be used and who can use them.

This session will examine NFC tags and how applications developers can read them and act upon their contents from their BlackBerry 7 applications. The session will also review the process for writing to NFC tags. Attendees should be Java developers to gain the most benefit from this session.
