Channel 4 have again partnered with BlackBerry to produce a new ‘structured reality’ TV Series

Following on from RIM and Channel 4′s reality series ‘Live and Lost with BlackBerry’, Channel 4 have again partnered with BlackBerry to produce a new ‘structured reality’ series in the vein of Made In Chelsea and The Only Way Is Essex that will follow a group of music fans at summer festivals.

This is also in addition to the ‘BlackBerry Presents’ series, which so far has produced Jessie J live.

The eight-part series is to be produced by Monkey Kingdom, the company responsible for bringing Made In Chelsea’s champagne-slurping rich kids into our lives and will focus on a group of 18 to 25-year-olds revelling at UK summer music festivals.

BlackBerry are hoping to make Summer Daze a multi-platform experience by creating an online hub for the show that encourages viewers to interact using social media.

The commission fits in nicely with RIMs current brand campaign which sees it celebrating ‘people of action’

Richard Ashley, UK marketing director at Research in Motion, said:

‘‘Celebrating people who make things happen goes to the heart of our brand.’

Channel 4 says that a slot on the schedule has yet to be made for the series and it is unclear whether Summer Daze will be touted as a major show a la Made In Chelsea.
