BlackBerry 10 WebWorks SDK Linux Packager Released

It’s quite unusual, when you think about it, that Research In Motion don’t support linux to the same degree that they support Windows and Mac users.  When you think of open source, you normally immediately associate it with *nix.

With the latest offerings for BlackBerry 10 development, RIM did release their BB10 Native SDK for Linux, and WebWorks.  When it comes to *nix flavours and BlackBerry, a lot is down to *nix users to produce apps and code themselves.

One such linux lover is Mike Robinson, a good friend of the team here at Rapid.  He has now released the BB10 WebWorks SDK Linux Packager, when he realised the need for a WebWorks application packager for the Linux Operating System.

The port is based on the BB10 WebWorks SDK version 1.0.1.17 that is currently available for download for Windows and Mac.

As with any initial release there are bound to be some bugs or fixes, so let us know in the forums of any issues/fixes that you discover.

Mike has just been added to the list of approved contributors for BlackBerry 10, so congratulations to him on that and a nice project.  Mike can be contacted on the forums and you can follow him on twitter at @badtoyz.
