50 Shades of Grey Is Bringing Women To BlackBerry
It’s amazing what little things can bring people to BlackBerry. BlackBerry Smartphones are famous for their reliability, communication and security, to name but a few. A lot of women are buying a BlackBerry for other reasons.
I attended a private conference this week and the book ’50 shades of grey’ was mentioned several times. According to sales staff, there are a ‘lot’ of women going into phone shops these days and buying a BlackBerry, solely based on the fact that Christian Grey has one.
I’ll put my hand up here and say that I’ve read the whole trilogy (using my BlackBerry PlayBook) and they are fantastic but I never even noticed the BlackBerry references. Maybe, I was concentrating too much on other parts.

This shows the power of effective advertising. Many woman are now buying BlackBerry’s because ‘Christian grey has it’.
You may be laughing at this point but these books are selling in the millions and being read by millions of women worldwide. I’m not even counting the men secretly reading it.
Marketing is going to be crucial to the success of BlackBerry 10. Frank Boulben should take a leaf out ouf these books before then.
